Stella and Marcus

Julie sent me some great pictures of Stella and Marcus!

Here is Marcus waving....adorable!

And I love this picture of Stella, her eyelashes are to die for!

Weekend

Friday night Lee did end up pitching for 3 innings before the power went out in the stadium and they called the game. It has been raining so much in Mexico and if the game isn't called or delayed because of rain, the power goes out?! Lee was a bit irritated but only had 48 pitches before he will pitch again on Thursday. I got up early Saturday morning to meet my parents in Terrell to switch cars (they had my window fixed in Tyler). I left the apartment a little after 8am and it should take an hour or less to get to Terrell......but instead, there was a man on the ramp from 360 to 20 East trying to jump. Everything was shut down so that he didn't land on someones car (I suppose). So, it took me two hours to get to Terrell and then I came back on 30 because it was still shut down at 1pm! UGH! I'm sorry this guy was having a mental breakdown but that was a big inconvenience! But I did make it to Terrell and my drivers side window works (thanks Dad!). We ate at IHOP and then I headed back. Went to the pool for an hour but I couldn't handle much more, it was so hot! Saturday night I went to Lee's parents house to celebrate his Aunt's birthday. I posted some pictures below. I had a great time!
My mom gave me these beautiful flowers!

Summer is here

Gracious, it is HOT outside!! Just wanted to update everyone on how Lee is doing and what else is going on. Lee is doing awesome! He has pitched once since I last posted and he dominated!! He is actually supposed to pitch again tonight but he said that it is raining in Puebla and he isn't sure if they will get the game in. I'll post to let you know what happens. He is getting more and more used to the cultural differences and has become friends with a couple of guys on the team that have been great. They have helped him so much and you don't always find that when you are in a new country by yourself (trust me, I know). He has traveled to Oaxacha and Puebla so far (besides playing in Veracruz when he first arrived). He plays against Cancun in July so we are hoping to meet there and I CAN'T WAIT!

I have not had much going on. I went to Tyler for Father's Day and had a great time. It's always nice to go home and just relax. We went to see 'The Proposal' Saturday evening and if you haven't seen it.....I don't recommend it. Just your typical chick flick. I plan on getting some pool time in this weekend and I guess cleaning. And just relaxing. I try to keep myself busy because without Lee here, I just feel blah. I miss him terribly!

I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to keep this updated more than I have so far. Love to all!

On a happier note......Bobby and Allison welcomed Ryan James Weilbacher into the world on Thursday, June 25, 2009. He weighed in at 7lbs. I have not been able to see him yet so when I do I'll get pictures and then post them. I am so happy for the Weilbacher's and the new addition to their family!!

Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009)

This was the first record I ever bought/owned. I haven't kept up with MJ in several years unless I just hear a blurb on the news. He was an artist with talent I don't think will ever be recreated. I can remember dancing in my room to most all of his music....Beat It comes to mind:) I hope that MJ's life wasn't empty emotionally but I have a feeling it was. I know there were times I judged him harshly for what he was doing to his face but I have never questioned his talent. Other than what I have said, I'm shocked and in disbelief that MJ is gone from this world. I hope he is happier wherever he is now than he was in this life. Rest peacefully! You have brought back the 80's and my childhood....I have loved reliving that in the last two days!

"I'm holding on to the hope that there is some reason I got cancer and that there is something, that may not be very clear to me right now, that I will do" - Farrah Fawcett (1947 - 2009)

I did not grow up with Farrah Fawcett when she was in her prime on TV. But I do remember her, the hair especially. She is beautiful and I also know that there were several young men who donned a poster of her in a red bathing suit on their bedroom walls! I think she fought a tremendous battle and it goes to show how terrible a disease Cancer is. Her doctor said she 'transitioned' peacefully and I hope that was the case.....

Mexico

Lee is getting oriented in Mexico. He pitched on Saturday night and did really well but they still ended up losing that game 4-2. He will pitch again on Friday and this time will be at home in Tabasco. I'm anxious to see what he says about Tabasco because so far Veracruz has been the hottest place EVER and his teammates are telling him that Tabasco is worse! Lee said he might as well be playing on the sun:) Funny guy. He was able to get a phone on Saturday so I finally got to talk to him and that was wonderful!! My sister was here with me all weekend just hanging out and we had to run some errands on Saturday so I tried to get them done before Lee called. We didn't get down the first aisle at WalMart before he called and I stepped outside to talk to him. Poor Meredith roamed around WalMart the whole time I was on the phone! Good sister!

I'll update again later. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

News

It has been a while since I posted anything and I'm sure that there is alot I have to catch everyone up on but the biggest thing for now is that Lee has gotten the opportunity to go play baseball in Mexico!! He is playing in Villahermosa, within the state of Tobasco. He just left this morning and this has all happened so fast that it is still a blur to me! This is a fabulous opportunity for him and for us but, of course, I am torn because I already miss him. He was out of town with the Ft. Worth Cats and just got home yesterday so I really didn't get 24 hours with him before he left. He will be in Mexico until the end of July and I know that it will go by quicker than I can imagine:) If everything is going well I will go down there the week after July 4th to spend some time with him. Villahermosa is on the Gulf side and not too far from the Cancun area. We looked up all of the towns that he plays in and they are all in that general area as well. The Mexican League is the equivalent of a AA team here in the States. They pay significantly better in Mexico and if he does well he could possibly play in their Winter season. This is all great news for him and I am so thankful that he has had this opportunity come his way! Please say a prayer for him that he gets quickly oriented and does well down there!
